The Path Beside the River Congost

Ever since I started training for last year's Camino, I've come to this path for long walks or jogs. Today there are not too many people about. The blue 3 is part of a circuit of 10 kilometers. If I walk quite quickly to this point, it's approx a 90 minute walk from our apartment and back again. Lovely to feel the sun.

Bikini Season Farewells

I guess it's no surprise to you, but I like to eat pastries. You can see cheese cake above. I finally had to admit to myself that the 2 or 3 stops at the bakery a week was more like 5 or 6 and I truly couldn't fit into my old white pants all of last year- so, hence the running and the liver cleanse diet. I'm down to 53 kilos and still have 2 to lose before I'm at my optimal weight. It's going well. But its also time to say goodbye to my sweets. Though I'm sure we'll meet again, just not so frequently.

And We Did It!

Yes! My first half marathon and Albert's second. We finished in about 2 hours and 11 minutes. I was aiming for under 2.30 (and missing disqualification), and Albert ran with me to encourage me along. The main sponsor gave us a huge box of goodies.

Rain for My First Half Marathon

We're on our way to the race. Its pouring! Once we start it won't be a problem. It's just the getting wet part that's the problem. Wish us luck!

We Did It!

We all competed, we all did our best, and Granollers was a happy and excited place. Amazing for a Sunday morning! Thanks to everyone who supported the marathon!

Here are two videos from the end of the marathon -

I ran a 5 kilometre: Tiffany's finish I'm in green and running fast! My official time was 28.53. (249th out of 791 runners. And 70th girl out of 456!) I didn't beat my previous best time of 28.30, but it was my first race after training for four months, so I'm not too unhappy.

Albert ran the half marathon (21 ks) Albert's finish Albert's in orange and very tired! Albert wanted to run the race in under 2 hours, and his time was 2 hours and 3 seconds! So he has a goal for the next one.

Jett ran the mini marathon (1 k) in 4 minutes and 2 seconds. He looked great and just needed to beat his time from last year, 4.21.

We've just both joined another half marathon in 7 weeks. It will be my first and the longest I have ever run! We're excited and feeling a bit crazed with enthusiasm.
