To Sabadell

So another new experience this week with public transport. I am taking the bus to Sabadell. Seems to be a direct bus from our door to the station. Then I have a 10 minute walk. All very straight forward.
And with a houseful of sick visitors. Unfortunately everyone caught the flu almost on the day they arrived. We'll see how they rally today.
Good luck to me and good health to them.

OJ for Lent

So instead of coffee in a bar I'm drinking orange juice. They serve it with sachets of sugar!
And no cake!

My First Time at the Granollers-Canovelles Station

Hi!
I am on my way to Vic. I will have a yoga class there for English students.
I am at the station on the 'other' side of the river.
My train is due in 3 minutes.
For someone who has travelled to many countries and by many modes of transport, you'd think it would be a piece of cake.
Did I tell you I like my sofa best?

The View from the Dentist's

Yes. I am here again. It is my last visit for the year.
...
Well, I was about the send that blog post when I was called into the drilling room.  I have to go back in three weeks. No problem. No problem. Just to finish off the filling.

White Birds Along the Congost

I don't know what they are.
Lovely to see them.
It's a windy cool day but lovely in the sun.

Carnival Begins in Granollers 2012

Carnestoltes leads the march of children through the streets heralding the inauguration of the Carnival.
A time cream cakes, rich wine and wild dancing. Let's begin!

The Beauty Parlour

So today is the first time I am going to the local beauty salon for waxing.
To get waxed you need to take a number and wait.
Today there is one woman in front of me, and two more behind me.
The prices are cheap compared to other countries I have been to.
Half a leg is 5 euro!
This place has a bit of a factory line feel though, it's true.
Good luck to me.

Dentist Saga

So, I went to the dentist again yesterday. It was the most painful by far.
The good news is I have only one visit left and I have paid the bill. I am not sure what hurts more, my wallet or my jaw.
And although I complain, I looked at my tooth that was totally reconstructed yesterday and realised that the dentisit works miracles.
Thank you! I have a lovely new tooth. :)

Albert!

His aim was to break 2 hours. He ran 1.53. He's very happy.

Ice Absurdity

Today we came out of our apartment and discovered it was corded off by police tape.  It was guarding some ice.

Half Marathon of Granollers 2012

Here's Albert soon starting.  There is more people than ever before. Lots of people warming up. Bright colours.
It's cold in the shade, -5, but warm enough in the sun.
Good luck to our runners!

No Thursday Market in Granollers Due to Snow

I was surprised that there almost no stalls on the streets today. There were two on the main pedestrian street covered in tarp.
People here are using umbrellas! I haven't seen that for snow either. In Norway people just shake the snow off when they go inside. It's too cold to melt outside.
And the really nice thing? It's very quiet out. Interrupted by the squeal of a child every now and then. And.. two strangers smiled at me! If that isn't. Enough reason to love snow.

The First Snow in Granollers 2012

I know it's difficult to see, but it's snowing!
I have never seen it snow here before.
There are cold weather warnings in Barcelona this week, and the forecast is -9 for the half marathon.
They say the winds are coming from Siberia!

A Walk in the Rain

So today Jett is away for the whole day and I usually keep classes to a minimum.
I decided to go for a walk. From Montcada to the ocean and along the shore into the centre of town. Google says it will take about 4 hours.
And it's raining.
Oh well. A nice walk for the afternoon. I did pack a second pair of shoes in my back pack.

The Country Where a Bag Counts as a Person on a Train

And sometimes it can be a scarf.
